The Bible is made up of a variety of different styles of literature and we need to approach each style in a way that does it justice. Job is a form of wisdom literature, it is a poetic dramatization of his life and not a simple historical biography.

Embrace the difference and see yourself in the theater watching the spotlight fall on different actors playing different roles. Maybe no actor appears for God's part but just a rich voice over an excellent surround sound system. The Holy Spirit inspired songs (eg. Psalms), He inspired historical research (eg. Luke/Acts), He inspired pastoral letters (eg. 1 Peter), He inspired apocalyptic writings (eg. Revelation) and He inspired the dramatization of the life of Job so that we can learn from it.
When we looked at Job in 2015 the overall theme for the series was Deeper Wisdom for Life in a Fractured World. It challenges many misconceptions we have about good and evil and what it means to be a blessed person. It turns some things on their head as we learn a deeper wisdom.

Thank you for your blog, Don - I am looking forward to keep learning and growing more in this way too.
